Ski touring in High Tatra, Zakopane

Hey,

alternatively to "normal ski holydays" in the Austrian Alps, I like to go to Zakopane in the Christmas holydays to do ski touring there. But after some internet research, I am not longer sure if it's a good idea. Therefore I have some questions about ski touring in Zakopane:

- It is really forbidden to do ski touring in the polish High Tatra? If yes, there are enough "official routs" left to do to good ski touring there? We just want to do day tours from Zakopane.
- Is Zakopane a good place for ski touring?
- Exists some ski tour guides (books) for the Polish area of High Tatra
- How are the snow conditions normally between Christmas and New Year?

You can not walk outside routes (but in winter conditions, this means that you can not stay "500m from the path"). Winter road routes overlap with the summer hiking paths (with few exceptions).

- Is Zakopane a good place for ski touring?
One of the best. From Zakopane you can take one day tours in the high mountains and come back for a night to the city. This of course does not guarantee the best snow conditions.

- Exists some ski tour guides (books) for the Polish area of High Tatra
Yes they are, but in Polish:

- How are the snow conditions normally between Christmas and New Year?
It's hard to define. Usually the amount of snow and the quality of snowpack is good / rideable. You can check the following TRs from last winter:

However I will buy a guide in Polish, I just have to learn the language
